Cool Links for Week of January 26th

Posted by 26 January, 2009

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you day is off to a good start. I’ve been sick for the past week (the flu), but I’m excited to be feeling better. The good part about being sick is that it gave me a chance to finish up two books and begin 3 others (Ready, Fire, Aim: Zero to 100 Million in No Time Flat, Outliers: The Story of Success, and The Art of the Start).

Healthy Sacrifices We Made to Start Our Online Business by Steve – I like that Steve included “healthy” in his title. I think that too many people start businesses and neglect their health in many ways. Have you started a business? What were some sacrifices you made?

The Four-Hour Work Week Myth by Derek – This is a great article that stresses not working, but finding work that is fun for you.

How to Become Remarkable in One Easy Lesson by Susan Kuhn – In relating to Seth Godin and his father, she provides a great lesson for becoming remarkable.

Frugal Recipes by  Wide Open Wallet – Ashley provides a lot of great recipes. I’ll let you know how they turn out!

The Power of Letting Go by Jeremy Day – I know I sometimes have problems letting go to stuff.

Leadership: Humility by Mike King – I think one of the most important factors of a great leader for me at least, is humility.

How to Decide If You Should Become an Entrepreneur by Tim Clark – This is a great article and one anyone should read if they are interested in entrepreneurship.

40 Ways to Relax and Recharge Your Batteries by Dumb Little Man – I’m always looking for ways to relax and thought there were some good tips here. Do you do any of these to relax?

10 Easy Ways Credit Card Companies Make Money Off of Us by Money Ning – This article certainly makes me thing twice before using my credit card, but oh how I love having miles (note: we pay do not carry a credit card balance).

Hyperinflation Beginning in China and Will Destroy the U.S. Dollar by Eric de Carbonnel – I usually don’t pay attention to articles promising doom, but there is quite a bit of “meat” to this article.

Bank of America: How to Lose $20 Billion of Value in 2 Days by Heidi Moore – This article caught my eye mainly because we have quite a few shares of Bank of America stock.

I was also included in the most recent Personal Development Carnival and The Carnival of Personal Finance, so be sure to take a look at the other great entries.

Looks like a great list to check out. I’ve read most of Mike King’s leadership articles, and they were excellent! Most of the others are new to me – I’m looking forward to exploring where they take me!
